Property Negotiator

Job description

About Bricklane

Bricklane harnesses technology to unlock investment in residential property at scale using a revolutionary technology and data-driven approach.

We believe it’s time the housing market was brought into the 21st century, to benefit tenants and investors alike. We are committed to fixing issues in the rental market by providing high quality homes for people to live in.

We’ve recently raised £600m of institutional capital to invest across London, Bristol and the South East - it’s the largest tech-led investment in residential property outside the US, and we’re just getting started.

We’re backed by investors including LocalGlobe, A/O Proptech and Zoopla, and we’ve assembled a smart, highly collaborative team from the worlds of tech, property and finance.

What you will be working on

Buying property is central to what we do, and good investments depend on successful negotiations. You will become the best buyer in the market, with help from our proprietary data analytics platform, Compass. You’ll also make a profound impact on the investment returns we deliver to our institutional partners. Finally, you’ll be one of the first members in a rapidly growing team and enjoy both the progression opportunities and recognition that come with this.

In this role you will:

  • Negotiate on, and agree purchase of, significant volumes of residential property at the best prices

  • Organise due diligence processes, including assessment of potential issues with target properties

  • Ensure viewings and surveys are thorough and carried out on schedule

  • Utilise information obtained from viewings to optimise your negotiations

Job requirements

What we're looking for:

  • A real passion for negotiation - you’ll be driven to secure the best property prices and deliver the best returns for our institutional partners

  • Experienced with the workings of an estate agency - minimum of 2 years' experience

  • Very strong attention to detail - you’ll be looking for crucial information from reports to position your negotiations

  • Great communication skills

  • Good technical knowledge of the property market

  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines

  • Flexibility to work on operational tasks where needed

Benefits of working with us

  • Opportunity: get the chance to be a professional buyer on the client-side

  • Excellent work-life balance: Monday to Friday only

  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave + 1 extra day around Christmas

  • Flexibility: we love working from our brand new office in Old Street but we do support partial remote working, if that's best for you.

  • Equity: you’ll receive a meaningful stake in our growing company so that we can share in the success of the business together.

  • Personal development: we'll support you with training opportunities to help you grow.

  • Health: we offer Vitality healthcare to support your health and wellbeing, with discounts for gym membership, sports equipment, and cinema tickets.

  • Pension: you’ll be covered for later life with our pension plan.
